MicroMux™ Nano

Maximizing value

Soaring data demand and competitive pressures are driving network operators to deploy access network technology that delivers services at 10Gbit/s and beyond. But for many business services and mobile applications, supporting 1Gbit/s services at the network edge is still essential. To fully maximize the value of next-generation aggregation equipment, operators need additional hardware to convert higher-speed blades into 1Gbit/s Ethernet ports. Our pluggable MicroMux™ Nano makes this easy to achieve with no increase in footprint or power consumption.

Small device, big impact

Our MicroMux™ Nano is equivalent to ten standard-compliant SFPs in a standard SFP+ port.
MicroMux™ Nano also minimizes operational cost and complexity.

Simple and cost-effective

This incredibly compact device couldn’t be easier to use – just plug in and go.

Industry-first innovation

Specifically engineered for the network edge, our MicroMux™ Nano is a unique small form-factor pluggable (SFP) device that slots into 10Gbit/s SFP+ sockets and fans out to ten 1Gbit/s optical interfaces. It enables network operators and solution providers to effortlessly support lower-speed services on next-generation aggregation technology without deploying bulky and expensive pre-aggregation equipment. What’s more, our MicroMux™ Nano removes the need for unnecessary capital expenditure with a true pay-as-you-grow model.

Transparent timing support

Our MicroMux™ Nano is also suitable for time-sensitive networks sourced from 10Gbit/s Ethernet interfaces.

No operational complexity

Our MicroMux™ Nano has a wide range of applications. It can be utilized in Gigabit Ethernet routers, switches or any other device that accepts standard pluggable SFP+ interfaces. Now, a 10Gbit/s Carrier Ethernet NID can instantly be transformed into an aggregation Carrier Ethernet switch or a 10Gbit/s optical transponder can become a 10x 1GbE muxponder. Our MicroMux™ Nano also minimizes operational cost and complexity so that solution providers and network operators are free to focus on leveraging the potential of their 10Gbit/s network infrastructure, while still being able to provide legacy 1Gbit/s services.
