Managing multi-vendor, multi-layer IP-over-DWDM (IPoDWDM) networks requires close coordination between IP and optical transport domains. As networks become more complex, operators are looking for new ways to automate service lifecycle management and simplify operations across multiple layers and vendor environments. Achieving this requires intelligent automation that can respond dynamically to changing network conditions.
In this technical paper presentation, Chunmin Xia will detail a distributed, vendor-agnostic multi-MCP architecture designed for SDN-based, autonomous control of multi-vendor IPoDWDM networks. He will explain how the framework enables end-to-end service lifecycle automation and closed-loop cross-layer control using optical telemetry and GNPy physical-layer modeling. Attendees will learn how agentic AI can support more autonomous network operations and how the architecture was experimentally validated on an IPoDWDM testbed.
