  • Topics: DC leakage-induced ONU interference and mitigation in 200G burst mode coherent PON
  • When: Wednesday, March 18, 5:45 p.m. PT

In coherent PON systems, a key challenge is interference during burst‑mode upstream operation caused by DC leakage from non‑transmitting optical network units (ONUs). This interference can degrade the signal‑to‑interference ratio (SIR) and reduce overall system performance and sensitivity.

In this session, Ognjen Jovanovic presents experimental and simulation results on DC leakage-induced ONU interference in 200Gbit/s burst-mode coherent PON. The talk evaluates mitigation strategies and shows that a low-complexity digital high-pass filter at the OLT can outperform adaptive equalization when the SIR is ≤10dB.
