Beyond fiber networks, the potential applications for fiber optic sensing range from residential and industrial uses to mobile markets. Use cases include fire prevention, seismology and more. It’s still an open question which applications will drive the future of fiber optic sensing and how suitable various sensing technologies are for enabling these applications. Might there already be a universal technology that meets all societal needs?
During these presentations and panel debate moderated by Sander Jansen, experts will explain how fiber monitoring technology – such as Adtran’s field-proven ALM infrastructure assurance platform – can be applied to a range of use cases, including intrusion detection, fire prevention, humidity sensing and more. The panel will also explore the role of AI and machine learning in enhancing fiber optic sensing and debate the suitability of different sensing technologies for various applications.
