Adva Network Security extends Security Director with automated crypto management for FSP 3000 S-Flex™ and CryptoMux™
News summary:
- Diverse technologies and increasing compliance requirements complicate unified security management
- Security Director automates crypto management and simplifies security operations across FSP 3000 S-Flex™ and CryptoMux™ deployments
- Security Compliance Score provides clear visibility into network security and compliance status
Adva Network Security, an Adtran company, today announced that its Security Director platform now supports the FSP 3000 400Gbit/s S-Flex™ and 200Gbit/s CryptoMux™ encrypted optical transport solutions, in addition to its metro Ethernet portfolio. Security Director automates the setup of encrypted end-to-end connections, simplifies recurring operational tasks and monitors compliance with defined security policies. This accelerates commissioning, reduces the risk of manual configuration errors and supports secure and traceable network operations.
“We’re extending the benefits of Security Director to customers using S-Flex™ and CryptoMux™,” said Stephan Lehmann, director of product management at Adva Network Security. “Centralized security profiles simplify the management of encrypted connections throughout their lifecycle and ensure that security requirements are implemented consistently across the entire network.”
Security Director combines quantum-secure encryption, automation and compliance in one platform.
Security Director maps encrypted end-to-end connections across products as ‘secure channels’ and automatically identifies potential connection candidates. Cryptographic pairing of endpoints is initiated centrally. The systems authenticate each other and establish the required key material using quantum-secure methods. Authentication is based on protected hardware keys, without the need to exchange smartcards or other physical key media between sites.
The new, standardized security profiles centrally control parameters such as algorithms, key lengths and key rotation intervals. Security Director also detects insecure configurations, outdated firmware versions and expiring certificates. The Security Compliance Score enables organizations to measure the security status of individual devices and the entire network.
“Powerful encryption must be managed efficiently and in compliance with policies over the long term,” commented Michael Roth, GM of Adva Network Security. “With Security Director, we combine quantum-secure encryption, automation and compliance in a single centralized platform. The integration of S-Flex™ and CryptoMux™ is an important step towards end-to-end security management for modern high-performance networks.”
