While some established service providers began slowly building expensive fiber networks, Fibernet invested in an innovative fiber trenching approach that allows the altnet to build its network much faster. Fibernet selected the Adtran 10G Fiber Access Platform as its foundation to launch high-quality, competitive broadband services for internet, IPTV, telehealth and more.
“While Fibernet is new to this market, our leaders have deep experience in implementing superior broadband networks. We selected Adtran because of its experience in both the fiber access and altnet markets, and together we make a great team. We are extremely pleased with the support that Adtran has provided in our startup phase,” said Janne Ahola, CEO at Fibernet. “We understand that fiber is the only way to supply fast and reliable network connections that can scale with subscriber demands. HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - (February 4, 2022)— ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ: ADTN), the leading provider of next-generation multi-gigabit fiber and fiber extension broadband access solutions, today announced that operators have increasingly selected its XGS-PON/10G-EPON portfolio to take their network capabilities to 10G. The ADTRAN technology and software-defined access approach have proven to be a fiber access game changer for the largest incumbent operators, regional service providers and community broadband providers in North America and Europe as each seeks a competitive edge when satisfying the growing demand for multi-gigabit business and residential services.
Recent research reports from Dell’Oro and Omdia highlight ADTRAN’s market impact and growth. Both research firms show ADTRAN as ranking #2 and #3 for XGS-PON OLT shipments in North America and in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) respectively on a four-quarter rolling basis. Further, ADTRAN XGS-PON and 10G EPON shipments have reached an inflection point where 50% of its OLT ports deployed in this period were based on its open and disaggregated SD-Access platforms across a mix of large metro central offices, hardened street cabinets and strand-mounted remote OLTs.
“Omdia’s forecast predicts XGS-PON ONTs will increase dramatically compared to the total PON ONT market,” said Julie Kunstler, Chief Analyst for Broadband Access at Omdia. “ADTRAN’s 2021 XGS-PON ONT shipments reflect the adoption of XGS-PON ONTs.”
Rather than rely on just one market for relevance, or align itself with a traditional deployment solution, ADTRAN’s growth continues to cross all operator types and multiple markets. Year-over-year (YoY) growth continues to exceed 50% and within EMEA 3Q21 OLT growth
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - (February 2, 2022)— Adtran®, Inc., (NASDAQ: ADTN),the leading provider of next-generation multigigabit fiber access and fiber extension solutions, today announced it is helping Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative (CHEC) build its own fiber broadband network to reach underserved homes and businesses in rural Oklahoma. CHEC chose a portfolio of Adtran’s end-to-end fiber broadband solutions to deliver reliable, affordable internet that will support its community’s broadband needs today and is easily scalable to support their future demands and new applications.
Even before the COVID pandemic, only half of CHEC’s electric members had email access and even fewer were able to access any form of reliable internet from their homes. The need for connectivity intensified during work-from-home and remote learning periods, leaving many residents with no other choice but to move away to communities that offered high-speed broadband. There was an obvious and critical need for better infrastructure, so CHEC committed to build it. The co-op was awarded $4M through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) bidding process and worked with their expert partners to build the best fiber network to fit the community’s need.
CHEC found Adtran through Conexon, a rural fiber network design and construction management partner. The co-op is leveraging an end-to-end fiber broadband solution from Adtran that enables CHEC to deliver a managed subscriber experience for both residents and businesses. The Adtran global services supported solutions used for this deployment, included the Adtran 10G fiber access platform used to connect homes and businesses and the
