ADTRAN Y2K Compliance Statement
February 19, 1999 Dear Customer: This letter describes the current status of ADTRAN's "Year 2000" compliance. ADTRAN has developed internal and product implementation plans to address "Year 2000" compliance. Copies of both are available. The majority of ADTRAN's internal systems are already compliant with a completion date expected 2/99. ADTRAN products that perform date functions must comply with the ADTRAN Year 2000 Product Compliance Plan. A brief summary of the ADTRANis product compliance plan is listed below. Most ADTRAN products do not perform time or date functions and are unaffected by Year 2000 issues. About ten percent of ADTRAN products use a hardware real time clock, designed to meet "Year 2000" compliance. Testing of these products to the ADTRAN Year 2000 Compliance Implementation Plan is complete with new products evaluated before release. No product tested, that uses a RTC, has revealed any behavior that does not comply with our implementation plan. A small number of our products perform date functions in software. Except for the T-Watch software package, revision 7.0, we have found no non-compliant behavior. A T-Watch software update (ver 8.0), which also includes product enhancements, is available for free download from our web site. All ADTRAN products are warranted to meet "Year 2000" specifications regardless of model or revision. In the event that products are found to be "Year 2000" non-compliant, ADTRAN will repair, upgrade or replace the unit(s). Alternately, if these are unavailable, certifications can be obtained by calling ADTRAN and providing a serial number (i.e. 840A1234) or CLEI code (i.e. D4D1DFU1AA).
