DS1/E1 access is provided via either the Quad Fiber modules (QDFC/QDFR) or ADTRAN's OPTI-6100 MSPP. The QDFx modules provide for economical growth from 1 to 4 DS1s. The OPTI-6100 provides for orderly growth from 1-336 DS1s and is scalable to match the investment to the service demands. The OPTI-6100 provides NIU functionality on the DS1 modules such that full NIU functionality may be optionally provided
