Ethernet over TDM

Carrier Ethernet over TDM (EoTDM) allows service providers to deliver services to any business that is serviced by TDM services today. This means delivering to customers that reside both on and off-network. ADTRAN recommends deploying a high-density chassis (Total Access 5000) for the larger exchanges or central offices (CO),a medium-density chassis (Total Access 5006) for mid-sized exchanges or remote terminals (RT) and a 1 RMU stackable e.SHDSL line termination unit or LTU (Total Access 838) for the smaller exchanges or service start-up.

The Total Access 5000 supports standards-based copper pair bonding of xDSL loops for direct Ethernet over copper service delivery. Leveraging a complete end-to-end solution with the ADTRAN NetVanta 800 Series of customer premises equipment, up to eight pairs can be bonded together to deliver multi-megabit rates. Using Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) bonding over traditional DS1s and DS3s, ADTRAN's FastBreak approach supports Ethernet over TDM. By equipping EFM end-points (the Total Access 5000 aggregator and the NetVanta 800 CPE), traditional TDM business service delivery networks can support the ubiquitous deployment of Ethernet across the entire business delivery infrastructure, providing instant footprint efficiently and economically.

This end to end EoTDM solution uses the same EoCu aggregation solutions and encompasses the latest MEF certified EFM over TDM network termination units (NTU).

ADTRAN's Total Access 5000 provides flexible copper and fiber aggregation solutions.
Network termination units that allow delivery of Carrier Ethernet Services over bonded TDM circuits to deliver over 100 Mps of bandwidth.
