Video is key for maintaining customer retention and driving higher DSL take rates. It is apparent that HDTV must be offered to be competitive in today's market. There are many possible access network architectures that are suitable for IP video delivery. Two that are being prepared for widespread deployment are FTTN and PON-based FTTP architectures. FTTP is the obvious choice in new build situations, but FTTN has definite cost and time-to-market advantages where a copper network is already in place. Though perhaps not as future proof as fiber to the home, the data rate per subscriber provided using FTTN is a very attractive offering to supplement the FTTP solution. Products by Line/Family
