Last year, for the first time, schools were able to fund managed Wi-Fi and switching services through E-rate. This presented a new opportunity for resources-strapped school districts, which lack the necessary staff to manage the growing mobile device population on their network. For other districts, it makes better sense to keep all IT management in-house, given their expertise or systems they have in place to handle network burdens.

The competition is designed to recognize and reward communities that demonstrate vision and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as a commitment to improve lives and stimulate their local economy. We’ve supported and counseled the city in the development of its Community Revitalization Plan and we’re very excited they had been chosen as one of the 15 semifinalists in the competition.
One of Russia’s largest annual music festivals, Alfa Future People took place in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia, July 17-18. Alfa Future People is a yearly gathering of some the world’s best music, technology, and recreational events, such as football, laser tag, and others. Technologies such as 3D printers, virtual reality simulations, and the newest in green vehicles, the Tesla, were all on display during the event.
The three day long festival has been growing every year and the number of visitors continues to increase. This year, an estimated 40,000 fans attended the Alfa event. With so many there to enjoy the festivities, having a network capable of handling the thousands of devices with seamless mobile connectivity was absolutely essential.
